Start with the room’s proportions, ceiling height and the furniture below the fixture. As a planning guide, add the room length and width in feet to estimate a chandelier diameter in inches. Above a dining table, a fixture around half to two-thirds of the table width is a useful starting point. Always confirm the product’s actual dimensions, hanging height and sightlines before ordering.
For a standard dining setting, begin with approximately 30–36 inches (75–90 cm) between the tabletop and the lowest part of the chandelier. Adjust this range for the fixture’s scale, ceiling height, table size, seated sightlines and the room’s overall proportions. For open walkways, the final installation should also maintain comfortable head clearance.
Yes. The right fixture depends on the ceiling height, room scale, ceiling construction, existing electrical point and available support. Condos may suit compact or flush designs, while landed homes and double-volume spaces can accommodate larger or longer chandeliers. For heavy or oversized fixtures, confirm ceiling reinforcement and suspension requirements before installation.
Check that the electrical point is in the correct position, the ceiling can support the fixture and the wiring is suitable for the selected product. Hard-wired chandeliers and any wiring changes should be installed, tested and certified by a licensed electrical worker in Singapore. Share the product specification and site details with your installer before work begins.
Compatibility depends on whether the chandelier uses replaceable bulbs or an integrated LED light source, as well as the socket type, voltage, wattage and dimming system. Some DWHOME integrated LED products are not compatible with standard wall dimmers unless specified. Check the product notes and confirm dimming requirements with DWHOME before purchase or installation.
Switch off the power and allow the fixture to cool before cleaning. Use a soft, dry or lightly damp lint-free cloth suited to the material, and avoid abrasive cleaners or spraying liquid directly onto electrical parts. Crystal and glass elements should be handled carefully; for high ceilings, delicate fixtures or difficult access, arrange professional cleaning and maintenance.
Installation requirements vary by product, ceiling condition and site access. Some DWHOME product pages recommend professional installation for hard-wired or larger fixtures.
